
FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) pipe is a new kind of pipe material used for fluid transportation in recent years. Because of its excellent properties, it has been used extensively on the market. The reciprocal filament winding process has the advantages of high strength, reasonable jointing type, convenient installation, speedy test of the leakage test to the joint, it mainly be used for buried pipeline and long-distance transfer pipeline.
The pipe is consisted of inner liner, interface, structural layer, and outer surface layer.
Inner liner is corrosive resistance layer, Surfaces exposed to the chemical environment shall be resin-rich and reinforced with a 10 or 20 mil thick chemical surfacing mat (E- glass).
Interface layer is leakage proof layer, it be reinforced by minimum of three layers of 1.5 oz chopped strand mat.
Structural layer will be reinforced by continuous strand fiberglass roving and shall maintain a resin content of 20-40%. It is reinforcement for the inner lining layer and interface, resisting the foreign load to the pipe body and ensures the strength and stiffness of the pipe body.
Exterior surface shall consist of a chopped strand glass over which a resin-rich coating shall be applied.
Inspection and test of FRP pipes shall be peroformed according to ASTM D2996, AWWA C950, ANSI etc.
1.Appearance
The inner surface of the FRP pipe should be smooth and even, no crack, delamination, pinhole, impurity, poor gel area and air bubble, the ends of the pipe should be even and uniform, no burr and exposed fiber.

5.The content of undissolvable resin shall be tested according to GB/T2576, it is not less than 90%.
6.The barcol hardness shall be tested according to GB/T3854, it is not less than 40.
7.The content of the resin shall be tested according to GB2577, for hand lay-up method: inner liner layer ≥65%,middle layer ≥50±5%,For long filament winding method: inner liner layer ≥80%,middle layer ≥40±5%.
